The trend of set-jetting that we covered at the most recent ATAS Conference continues. If you are unfamiliar with set-jetting it is travel associated with films and TV shows such as White Lotus, Emily in Paris or Race Across the World. The rise in bookings when a popular show or film is airing is undeniable and with the amount of TV & films currently watched at an all time high this is set to continue.
Travel Weekly recently wrote about January TV shows that could help boost sales travelweekly.co.uk/destinations/travel-tv-rick-stein-australia-ainsley-harriott-bahamas and we felt one of these was particularly strong for the touring & adventure sector.
Rick Stein
Rick Stein the popular TV chef is hosting another series of Rick Stein’s Australia which shows a road trip around New South Wales.
The connection between food and travel is even stronger than that of set-jetting so this is bound to make people want to travel to this amazing destination. Throughout the show Rick visits the Central Coast & Hawkesbury River, heads into The Outback and spends time in the bustling city of Sydney.
The programme airs on BBC Two in the UK on Tuesdays at 7pm from 6 January 2026 and is also streaming on BBC iPlayer.
Lorraine Kelly
The next TV series is with the lovely Lorraine Kelly and is ‘Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey’ and is in partnership with Hurtigruten.
In the show Lorraine goes on an unforgettable journey through Norway in search of fjords, fishing villages and the Northern Lights. She travels much of the journey on board Hurtigruten’s ships and gets to know the people, places and traditions that make the coast so special.
The show will air on Channel 4 on Thursdays at 9pm from 15 January 2026 for three weeks
