A&K adds ‘ultra-luxury’ wellness tour of Japan
Growing demand for Japan, as well as wellness holidays, has prompted Abercrombie & Kent to launch an ‘ultra luxury’ wellbeing tour of the country.
The 10-night Japanese Art of Wellness tour includes forest bathing (shinrin-yoku), a stay at the Aman Tokyo spa and a visit to Karuizawa – a sanctuary for wild birds.
A&K and sister brand Cox & Kings have both seen demand rising for Japan – which hosts the Olympics and Paralympics in Tokyo this summer.
To celebrate the Olympics, Cox & Kings is offering savings of up to £300 on selected departures of its group tour, Japan’s Cultural Treasures, when booked by September 2.
The sister brands attribute the growing popularity of Japan to the country’s famous cherry blossom and rising demand for bucket list trips generally.
A&K said its Wonders of Japan Cruise: Cherry Blossom Season is almost fully booked with many options taken for 2023’s sailing.
Pre-pandemic, Japan had become A&K’s number-one seller with the operator opening up its own office to cater for the demand.
It has seen a significant trend towards honeymoons in Japan, with clients who have delayed theirs looking to spend more and tick off bucket list destinations.
Additionally, family holidays to Japan are proving popular, especially for families keen to learn outside the classroom.
