Agents win Western Australia fam trips during roadshows

Ten fam trip places have been won by travel agents who attended Tourism Western Australia’s first in-person UK events since the pandemic started.

The fam trips have been organised in partnership with Singapore Airlines.

A total of 21 operators travelled to the UK from Western Australia to meet almost 150 agents and product managers in Glasgow, Manchester, Preston and London.

And Roger Cook, the state’s deputy premier and tourism minister, joined the roadshow in London.

He said: “Throughout 2020 and 2021 we have continued to invest in the UK market and we have ambitious long-term plans to continue to grow our tourism industry in Western Australia.

“That is why the WA government has just announced the largest ever budget for Tourism WA at AU$167 million for 2022-23, to be invested in marketing, aviation, events and destination development.”

He also visited Waitrose, which has a partnership with Tourism Western Australia that includes wine-tasting events, a BBQ cookery event featuring chef Tony Howell and content in the supermarket chain’s Food magazine, app and website.
