APT says consumers are shrugging off Brexit concerns and booking Europe

Brexit is not preventing people booking tours to continental Europe during the peaks.

River cruise and touring specialist APT Travel reported a doubling in sales for a 15-day Amsterdam to Budapest itinerary since December.

Brexit uncertainty has not held holidaymakers back, according to managing director Paul Melinis.

“Like most of the industry we’ve been braced for a challenging peak period, but sales so far have surpassed our expectations,” he said.

“Clearly the ambiguity around Brexit has not stopped customers from planning trips to Europe in particular.

“Our Luxury Magnificent Europe cruise continues to be one of the most popular routes and with every detail included, passengers have less to worry about.”

A turn of year discount of up to £2,418 per person applies to the river cruise for bookings made by February 28.

Agents are being incentivised to make bookings during the sale period with a chance to win a place on one of three fam trips to Europe, New Zealand and the Mekong Valley via a prize draw.
