Riviera Travel has revealed new itineraries for its 2018 River Cruise programme and will now offer drinks packages to guests for the first time before they cruise.

The operator’s new Budapest to the Black Sea itinerary will travel from Budapest to Belgrade in Serbia, then pass through the Iron Gates to Romania and finally to Bulgaria.

Another new itinerary, the Enchanting Rhine and Yuletide Markets, will go on sale for 2018 at a later date.

For the first time, customers will be able to purchase a drinks package before they cruise, starting at £59.

 

Trafalgar has extended ‘Definite Departures’ across all of its Europe, Britain and Asia programmes for 2017.

The operator runs 109 guided tours across Europe and the UK, and 17 in Asia. Sales and business development

director Ruth Hilton said the move would help agents sell the brand with confidence.

 

Wendy Wu Tours has introduced a three-day Great Wall extension that can be tagged on to any tour starting or ending in Beijing.

The add-on, priced at £490, includes trips to three sections of the Great Wall – Gubeikou, Jinshanling and Simatai – plus a six-hour hike, seeing sunrise over the wall, two nights’ accommodation and private transfers.

 

APT has added an 18-day New Zealand Rail Adventure from Auckland to Christchurch, including seven specialist rail experiences.

The Premium tour includes a ride on Glenbrook’s Vintage Steam Train, a rail cruise in Rotorua, and journeys on the Northern Explorer, Coastal Pacific, TranzAlpine, Taieri Gorge Railway (pictured) and Seasider Train. From £4,645 including flights.

 

Great Rail Journeys has added 17 new tours to its Worldwide brochure, with five in North America, three in Scandinavia and Russia, and seven across Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. It will also visit Mexico and Havana for the first time with two trips, Mexico & Copper Canyon and Havana & the Colonial History of Cuba.
