Back-Roads Touring expands into US with seven itineraries
Back-Roads Touring has added the US to its range of destinations for 2020.
The small-group touring specialist has created seven itineraries, spanning California, New England, the Deep South, southwest and sites associated with the American Civil War. Each tour aims to uncover the lesser-known sides of each destination.
The range, which runs from April to October 2020, follows “overwhelming positive customer feedback” to Back-Roads Touring’s expansion into Asia in 2018, and the increasing popularity of its UK and European tours.
David Gendle, global sales general manager for Back-Roads Touring, said: “We know mature travellers have an interest in exploring the US in a small-group setting.
“Our tours provide the perfect combination of trusted tour guides, unique experiences and opportunities to explore the destination at leisure.”
Prices start at £1,889 per person for a six-day Classic California Coast tour, which takes customers from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It includes five nights’ accommodation and transport in a mini-coach.
The Charming New England: Scenic Summer tour starts in Boston and visits Portland, Jackson, Newport and Cape Cod. It costs from £3,369 for 10 days, including accommodation, coach transport and experiences such as a cooking class at The Essex, a culinary resort in Burlington, Vermont.
Another 10-day tour is Historic America – Freedom and the Civil War, which starts in Washington DC and visits Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Charlottesville and Alexandria. It costs from £3,179 for 10 days, including accommodation, coach transport and experiences such as a village tour to learn about Amish heritage.
