Belize drops Covid testing restrictions for arrivals
Belize has removed all public health measures for those entering the country, so visitors no longer need proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test upon arrival.
The purchase of the official Belize Travel Insurance policy is now optional but encouraged in case visitors face medical and non-medical emergency expenses in relation to Covid-19.
The Belize Tourism Board said the removal of restrictions means there has never been a “better time to book a trip” – describing the Central American country as “perfect for those looking for adventure and culture with sustainability at its core”.
“With a sun-soaked coastline dotted with exotic islands, wildlife rich rainforests, eco-friendly new dive sites, ziplining through the jungle, ancient Mayan ruins, and the second largest barrier reef in the world, there has never been a better time to grab life in Belize,” it said.
In May, the Belize Tourist Board joined the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) as an associate member to promote the destination’s wide range of experiences and boost trade bookings.
It also took part in the Lata Expo last month, meeting agents and tour operators including Audley Travel, Explora, Journey Latin America and Intrepid as it looks to drive visitor numbers after the pandemic.
It is also planning a new rewards programme for UK travel agents, with more details to be announced later this year.
