British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame inducts four leading business figures

Four of the industry’s leading business figures were formally inducted to the 2018 British Travel and Hospitality Hall of Fame on Monday night.
They were G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip, former Momondo Group chief executive Hugo Burge, former UNWTO secretary general Taleb Rifai and Deloitte global leader for travel and aviation Graham Pickett.
They were honoured alongside one inductee from the hospitality sector: JD Wetherspoon founder, Tim Martin.
The event, which took place at the Dorchester hotel in London, also featured awards for young manager and young entrepreneur of the year.
Tui’s GM cruise customer experience Anna Clarke was named young manager of the year (travel) while chief executive of tech start-up Vchain Technology Irra Ariella Khi scooped the young entrepreneur of the year (travel) gong.
Carnival Corporation was also honoured, taking home the sustainable business award.
Other recipients included John Vincent and Henry Dimbleby, co-founders of healthy fast food chain Leon, who won the annual business excellence award.
The Hall of Fame is part of Jacobs Media Group, which also includes Travel Weekly.
The awards honour the highest achievers in the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors, with recipients having inspired those around them.
