China Southern confirms second daily Heathrow-Guangzhou flight
Increased air access to China is to be offered from Heathow with China Southern Airlines confirming a second daily flight to Guangzhou.
Frequency will rise on the only direct route to the southern Chinese city from June 1, operating from Heathrow Terminal 4.
A Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be used on the new departure, lowering transfer times to the airline’s network of 120 destinations in China, Japan, Korea, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Heathrow chief executive, John Holland-Kaye, said: “We are delighted to welcome the second service of China Southern Airlines to Heathrow and the benefits of increased connectivity to Guangzhou for our passengers and
for British business.
“Direct connections to thriving markets like these are essential to keeping our country a global, outward looking, trading nation.”
Heathrow handled more than 1,1 million passengers flying to and from Chinese destinations in 2016, represnting a rise of 7. 3% over the previous year.
