Comment: 2022 will be big year for adventure
Explore’s global sales director, Ben Ittensohn, launches ‘Big Blue Sale’ with savings of 20%
Explore predicts 2022 will be “a big year for adventure”, with strong growth in walking and active holidays in particular.
Launching the operator’s ‘Big Blue Sale’, global sales director, Ben Ittensohn said the small group nature of Explore’s itineraries are appealing to many travellers following the pandemic, “even those that haven’t tried group travel before, with adventure travellers showing themselves resilient and desperate to get back to travelling”.
Explore’s January sale offers discounts of 20% on many of its bestselling small group walking, cycling, cultural and family tours this year.
Agents can save customers money on more than 250 trips in all corners of the globe, from the Amalfi coast to the Azores, and from Portugal to Peru.
“With more than 1,400 departures before October 31, there’s something for every client,” said Ittensohn.
“What better way to stave off the January blues that by getting a holiday in the diary?”
He added: “We’re delighted to kick off 2022 with one of our biggest ever sales. It’s been a challenging couple of years, but we’re coming into 2022 in a really strong position, with some great new product and real positivity in the industry and among our travel agent partners.
“We wanted to recognise our supportive agents and how much they’ve stood by us during the pandemic, by providing a really compelling offer for them to pass on to their customers.
“Our experienced and passionate business development managers will continue to be available for virtual or face-to-face appointments to help support our agency partners through what we hope is an incredibly busy peaks period.
“We’re all excited to work together on a really strong 2022 as travel comes back.”
Explore was a signatory on the Glasgow Declaration at COP26 and in late 2021 announced a new partnership with Rewilding Britain which means all bookings will include a donation to help raise vital funds to support the goal of 30% of Britain being restored to a natural state by 2030.
