Contiki to introduce robot trip managers

‘Artificial Intelligence Trip Manager’ robots going by the name of ATITA are being introduced by youth operator Contiki.

The robots will use artificial intelligence technology to create a new, state-of-the-art travel experience for young British travellers.

ATITA is programmed with a database of more than 1.5 billion travel facts, tips and recommendations as well as 100,000 jokes that are seamlessly executed for every situation, ensuring that every experience feels totally authentic.

Contiki expects the highest of standards from its trip managers, and these robots are no exception.

The ATITA-run trips are being introduced for three of its most popular European trips including: European Discovery, London to Athens and Spanish Spree.

UK and Europe sales and marketing director, Donna Jeavons, said: “We have been experimenting with artificial intelligence for over 18 months now and are proud to be the world’s first travel company to introduce AI trip managers.

“Our young travellers are digital natives, and as technology improves we want to be at the forefront of utilising this to redefine travel and create unique experiences.

“This new technology is also a huge business advantage. We usually have to invest nine weeks into training our trip managers, but now they’re ready to go with the click of a button.

“ATITA is the future of travel and a disruptor to the entire industry,” she claimed.
A unique messenger app allows travellers to chat anytime with ATITA – ask questions about the trip in private, receive personalised recommendations or get extra support while abroad.

Using the power of AI, Contiki is elevating the travel experience so that every traveller walks away with absolutely #NoRegrets.
