CostSaver sells North and South America via trade
CostSaver is offering the US, Canada and Latin America for sale through the UK trade for the first time for 2018.
The budget sister brand of Trafalgar, marketed as “Trafalgar the CostSaver way” offering “value tours without compromise”, brought out its USA, Canada and Latin America 2018 brochure this week.
It already produces a European programme for UK travel agents and has worked with the trade since December 2015.
The CostSaver brand will now be more “aggressively marketed” to the UK trade following the success of its European programme, said Ruth Hilton, sales and business development director.
The programme features 19 itineraries and two trip styles, with prices from £100 a day, targeting first-timers to touring.
The USA, Canada & Latin America brochure features four destinations new to CostSaver: Costa Rica, Peru, Argentina and Brazil.
The programme comes out at the same time as Trafalgar’s new USA & Canada 2018 brochure, which adds Cuba and five new Be My Guest itineraries, including the chance to have dinner with Muhammad Ali’s younger brother.
Hilton said: “We have continued to see more value-touring product trading really well due to the economic landscape and uncertainty and people not spending as much, so we wanted to bring this product to the market.
“People are being a bit more careful how they spend money – look at the growth of Aldi and Lidl. It is getting people to try a tour, and CostSaver gives us the edge.”
CostSaver hotels tends to be three and four-star, as opposed to four and five-star accommodation with Trafalgar.
The Costa Rica Adventure starts from £895 for a twin-share and six nights’ accommodation, daily breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners, free airport transfers, a travel director and coach travel.
