Explore unveils Family Lite and Family Beyond range
Explore has created two new categories of family holiday and introduced seven itineraries in an expanded 2018 brochure.
The adventure specialist’s Family Adventures 2018 programme introduces straightforward Family Lite breaks in Europe and more‑adventurous, long-haul Family Beyond trips.
Family Lite is a cost‑effective option allowing clients to choose which activities they want to take part in from a range of Explore’s best-selling European group family holidays. It aims to allow families to tailor the trip around their budget, interests and activities.
An eight-day Family Iberian Adventure in the Explore Lite range includes mountain biking, kayaking and walking in Andalucia and southern Portugal. It starts at £899 for adults and £819 for children, including return flights, seven nights’ accommodation with breakfast and a tour leader.
The Family Beyond option provides a selection of long-haul adventure trips which mix known highlights with lesser-known places and “surprises” to create an “ultimate” family adventure. The operator is aiming these trips at families with older children and parents who want to introduce their children to adventure travel or are planning their last big family holiday.
A 13-night Indonesian Highlights trip in the Explore Beyond collection features the islands of Flores, Komodo, Bali and Lombok.
It includes the chance to venture through rice paddy fields, jungle and ancient tribal villages, and search for Komodo dragons, the world’s largest species of lizard.
It starts at £2,499 for adults and £2,015 per child, including nine nights in hotels, two nights in a village house and two nights on a boat, some meals and a tour leader.
