Intrepid expands range of US cycling tours

Intrepid Travel has increased its range of US cycling holidays following the news that the country will lift its travel ban for fully vaccinated international travellers in early November.

Four six-day cycling tours have been added, in Utah’s Bryce Canyon (pictured) and Zion National Parks, Maine and Acadia National Park, Washington’s San Juan Islands and California’s Sonoma and the Napa Valley.

The holidays cost from £1,765, apart from Cycle Maine and Acadia National Park, which costs from £1,815. Prices exclude international flights.

Frank Cheshire, Intrepid’s cycling product manager, said: “Travelling by bicycle along the small by-roads, tracks and trails is the perfect way to experience the US, not just see it.

“The US has icons galore but it’s not until you slow down that you truly experience and understand the true beauty of this stunning country.”

Trips booked before October 11 can be secured with a £1 deposit as part of Intrepid’s ‘buy now pay later’ deal.

Expanding its range of cycling and walking holidays is also part of Intrepid’s efforts to decarbonise its trips.

The company has been carbon neutral since 2010.
