Intrepid Foundation launches Ukraine crisis appeal

The Intrepid Foundation has launched a Ukraine crisis appeal and kick-started the fund with a donation of AUD50,000 – more than £27,000.

The appeal funds will support the Australian Red Cross, which is providing emergency relief for communities affected by the crisis in the region following the Russian invasion.

Intrepid’s not-for-profit organisation said an estimated one million people have fled their homes and numbers are expected to grow significantly in coming days and weeks.

Many who remain in Ukraine do not have access to water or electricity and are seeking emergency shelter.

Red Cross teams in Ukraine and neighbouring countries can provide first aid, medicine and equipment, food, water, shelter and essential items, and repair vital infrastructure.

All of the donations to Intrepid’s appeal will go directly to the Australian Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Intrepid has cancelled all trips in Ukraine and Russia for the foreseeable future as the company focuses on supporting people on the ground.
