Intrepid Travel environmental impact manager ranked among top 100 women worldwide
Intrepid Travel’s global environmental impact manager has been named in an annual list of 100 inspiring and influential women from around the world.
Dr Susanne Etti is named on the BBC 100 Women list as a ‘climate pioneer’ ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28.
This year’s list, unveiled today (Tuesday), highlights those who have been working to help their communities tackle climate change and adapt to its impact.
Others recognised include former US First Lady Michelle Obama and human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
Dr Etti, one of the travel and tourism industry’s only climate scientists, is the author of a 10-step guide to decarbonising travel businesses and a carbon measurement blueprint for tour operators.
She said: “I am surprised and honoured to be named among the outstanding women on BBC’s 100 Women list.
“The climate crisis is a complex and urgent global challenge which requires collective efforts and innovation across industries, governments, businesses, and communities.
“I believe that with continued dedication and radical collaboration we can mitigate the impact of climate change and build a more sustainable and equitable future.”
