Newmarket account managers back on the road

Newmarket Holidays’ four business development managers are back on the road, visiting travel agencies in person to promote the escorted tour operator’s programme.

The operator said many agents are now working longer hours to capitalise on the expected increase in bookings after recent changes to the red list and relaxation of testing requirements.

Ricahrd Forde, head of trade sales, said: “It’s been a long time for both operators and agents alike to be working in such a restricted fashion.

“It now feels like a corner has been turned, and along with recent government announcements, we can all get back to what we do best – operating and selling holidays.”

The four BDMs are Sas Rowbotham (Midlands, Wales and the southwest); Gemma Walker (northern England and the Isle of Man); Amy Burt (Scotland and Northern Ireland); and Stuart Cowell (East Anglia, southeast and southern England).

Furthermore, Forde and Newmarket’s chief commercial officer, David Sharman, visited key clients in the southwest region to re-engage with agents and gather feedback about the market.

“We had a lot of great feedback that our current offer for agents was helping to secure customer bookings, especially on the more expensive holidays as customers had missed out on their trips the last two years,” said Forde.

“We hope to continue to incentivise and reward both agents and customers into 2022.”
