Newmarket Holidays returns to Wimbledon after two-year break

Newmarket Holidays celebrated a return to Wimbledon with its escorted tour packages.

The operator has been an official Wimbledon tour partner for more than two decades, and this year marked its first return to the tennis tournament since the start of the pandemic.

Newmarket Holidays said it hosted “thousands” of customers over the finals weekend on July 9-10, including its chief executive Neil Alobaidi, who attended to connect with agents and customers following two years of disruption.

Alobaidi said: “After two years of the pandemic it was thrilling to get back to organising a group trip of this size. Watching our team in action and seeing their passion and care for our customers was a real honour and I am immensely proud of all of them.

“Being able to share time with thousands of our customers, enjoying a truly memorable experience reminded me exactly why this is such a wonderful industry to be a part of.”

Simon Oram, manager of The Travel Shop in Sutton Coldfield, attended and said: “What a fantastic day. The seats on number-one court were excellent and it is such an impressive arena.

“The atmosphere was electric, a bucket-list day, and the organisation from Newmarket Holidays was excellent from start to finish.”
