Portugal offers fam trip places for National Travel Agent Day
Visit Portugal has partnered with TAP Air Portugal to offer five places on a 2023 fam trip, to celebrate National Travel Agent Day (NTAD) on July 22.
The annual event is the brainchild of adventure operator Intrepid Travel, which is encouraging suppliers to support agents with special deals or incentives to increase bookings.
The Portuguese tourist board said the fam trip is still in the planning stages but it is likely to be a four-day event, that will showcase a different side of the country.
It is also likely to feature an element of touring and adventure, because Visit Portugal is an associate member of the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas).
Claudia Miguel, director at Visit Portugal UK, said the fam trip was being offered for NTAD “in recognition of travel agents in the UK and their vital role in the tourism industry”.
The trip will include flights with TAP Air Portugal, accommodation, transfers in Portugal, activities and most meals and drinks.
To win a place in the fam, travel agents will need to share with the tourist board the best holiday they have organised to Portugal, or what would be a dream holiday to the country.
