Intrepid Travel is accelerating growth of its tailor-made business model, including working with trade partners.
London-based Richard Wise, reporting directly to chief executive James Thornton, will be responsible for developing and “rapidly scaling” the customised travel division.
Wise, who takes up the newly-created role of tailor-made general manager, previously spent 13 years at Audley Travel working in various senior roles in the UK and the US.
The appointment comes as Intrepid responds to increasing demand for personalised travel, with the adventure operator reporting a 19% year on year increase in tailor-made bookings.
Thornton said: “We’re delighted to welcome Richard to our team, especially at this time when travellers are seeking a more personalised experience.
“Richard brings a wealth of experience and strategic insight to this role to unlock the enormous potential we see in this space.”
Wise added: “Tailor-made represents a powerful opportunity to connect more deeply with our customers and deliver travel experiences that are as unique as they are impactful.
“I look forward to working with our global teams to deliver market-leading experiential travel that travellers are seeking.”
